The Casual Labourers Support Project on the corners of Raapkraal and main rds Kirstenhof (and where possible also cor Silvermine rd and Main rd Kirstenhof/lakeside ) is intended to show generosity to labourers and their families from the wider community of Capricorn westlake and some from even farther afield , who come daily to wait for work waiting on the side of the road.
Currently we see on the border of Lakeside and Kirstenhof alone between 10 to 50 a day waiting for work from Capricorn mostly and one or 2 from Westlake.
Mainly wed like to create awareness that on so many street corners in Capetown workers wait for casual work every , many of them hungry without breakfast and desperate also to provide for their kids which most have
People have to walk long distances in most cases just to get the corners of Silvermine or Raapkraal and Main rd just to wait for work which is never guaranteed. . . Some wait for work every day 8-12 (4 hours) (even saturday and sunday some ) and some get only 1 job a week.
HISTORY Started in 2017 the purpose was initially to provide Supplementary breakfast (porridge and tea/cofee on several days a week). This then moved on to Bread and tea which labourers requested as preferable. Anyone wish to still do its always appreciated.
As of SAT 28 June 2019 We are have tried as well  to supply Food packs for the labouriers family as most say they have 2 or 3 kids,

FOOD AND CLOTHES FOR ADULTS/KIDS How can you help ? Anyone willing to provide sandwiches Bread , rice vegetables morvite , tea, sugar milk (any food)and any kind of food at all and also clothes shoes for kids or women  ,thats is so appreciated!
2nd HAND CELL PHONES
Most workers have std 8 or less . Helping with second hand cell phones is also something we are trying to do and have some limited success so far. Please consider donating your old ones? This means a worker is not walking to wait for work as then the boss can let workers know in advance when work is available
