We cannot thank Noleen irma francis, who founded this soup kitchen enough , initiating several years back also a family affair with her and her mom and dad who still dedicate time to cook and feed and distribute food several times a week. Especially for the compassionate kind way in which all are treated. Making a soup kitchen into a community thing is no easy task Not only do begotten givers offer lovingly prepared food, but they also celebrate some of the beneficiaries birthdays with home baked cakes and try to provide party packs for the soup kitchen children Bringing not only food but joy in such circumstances moves all of us so deeply Also how can we thank Rokpa International enough, and some funds from private donors enabling us to at least provide the food for both humans and a few animals in Delft. so many soup kitchens do amazing work in delft and we are grateful to be able to help one of them, Begotten givers activities their other sponsors here are just a few pictures the year past to date
We give out food as our budget allows every 2 weeks in one local suburb in cape town, conscious of the fact that recyclers, even though they not be aware of it do more for the planet that most . collecting recycling paper and plastic. It is regrettable that more face to face meetings with local privileged suburbs do not occur given excellent friendly relationships we have built up over many years of this project. Amongst other things we found out that recycler start at around 5 in the morning .. pushing trolleys many km from lavender hill mostly t yo this area Many have kids , the income is some times R50 day for 5-6 hours of work u to R150 . It really is uncumbent on those they serve subsidies with at least food , some clothes for their kids and whatever they can. Our project may be small given limited funds and helpers. both. but we hope this bring s awareness at least a little in our city and most in SA to the need out there and how all of us can play a role however small in helping . Especially on rainy days like today such gestures are deeply appreciated but the folk we serve. Wed like to than Rokpa International for their steadfast help and also our private beneficiaries when they have been able. no donation is too small - see our web at www.homelessfriends.org.za for other hunger and other projects

"My parents and 2 volunteers the lines are getting longer, this is what transpired today when the distribution was over. The two of them were extremely late and everything was up already so they took it upon themselves to dig that last bit out of the pot" we provide food for 540 meals a week to Begotteen gives and they have to limit their soup kitchen to 2 meals of average 261 each day to make what they get work (with other sponsors for a more veges over and above what we are able to give which only lasts a few days veges wise a month so we are mostly able to prioovide the samp beans sugar and maize and some condiments and other only. #those moved to donate are welcome CLICK HERE "
